Gamespot gives Gears of War a 96

Wow. I guess I'll just have to buy this game first instead of renting it to see how it is. Gamespot is usually pretty stingy about giving games a score in the 90's so it better be good if they gave it a 96! Overall, a 93 at Metacritic so I don't think it will disappoint.

Xbox 360 | FFXI revisited

This is what I've been up to, leveling my character and fishing to make gil. Yes, 10 Days and counting of actual play time. I thought I wouldn't like this game but it's all I ever play now. Now I just need to catch up with my blogging. Damn game! You've ruined my blog!

Xbox 360 | Huxley

I was really looking forward to Huxley coming out for the 360 on June 1st of 2006, but apparently it's not coming out now until Jan 1st, 2007. Hopefully this delay will make it an even better game than I hope it will be. An MMOFPS, too cool! Though I doubt it will keep me off of my addiction to FFXI, which I am really enjoying even without the next gen graphics that the 360 is capable of. That game is just plain fun to explore and work on your character.

Xbox 360 | Live Update

My wishlist, in order of importance...
1. Allow for at least 5 people in a private chat. (would be great for playing FFXI with other 360 owners)
2. Downloads in the background (which I've read is supposed to be implemented).
3. More new (free would be nice) content in the marketplace.

Xbox 360 | Final Fantasy XI
After the 3 hour set up of this game (most of which was downloading and installing updates) I saw this warning before starting the game. I'm not a RPG guy and I've tried a few RPG's but none have ever really made me a fan of the genre. We'll see how FFXI stacks up, but I doubt I could really get addicted to it. *knock on wood*

More Pro Evolution Soccer 4 for Xbox
Forget EA's FIFA series, Pro Evolution Soccer 4 is the one to wait for to get on Xbox!

Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow Article
Here's a good article at IGN regarding Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow and how the new online game types are. Supposedly the lean glitch is fixed, too bad for you Roof! And the only bad thing so far is they actually included Peaks as one of the old maps included from the orginal RS3. Other than that, it looks good.

Elkhart Open Round One
Well, yours truly choked in the first round with an opening round of 61 at the old course at St. Andrews. I made the mistake of looking at the scoreboard and seeing that someone freaking shot a 54! Yeah, what a realistic score! Mmm hmm. But enough of my bitterness. I need to do much better in the second round if I wanna make the cut and stay competitive. But what'd I tell you, Forest? I shot a 61, just like I said I would.

The Top 10 Best Xbox Games

IGN has posted "The Top 10 Best Xbox Games: The 10 best Xbox games in order. Feel free to argue." article. I'm not sure I agree with them. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 should have at least been in the top 5, IMO.

Cox Premier Package

I thought I'd give this a shot to see how much faster it would be since I play a lot of games online. On paper, the specs seem decent. But after trying it out, the upstream speed isn't enough. If Cox really is serious about offering gamers and heavy internet users better broadband, they need to offer at least 700+ Kbps upstream. So if anyone sees this, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for better bandwidth. I just may look into switching to DSL in the future since Cox doesn't really offer enough, especially for the price.

New RS3 Map!
Rooftop's favorite map, "Meat Factory" is now available as a free download for Rainbows Six 3 on Xbox Live. I know the image below isn't it but I couldn't find any images of it online.

Pro Evolution Soccer (aka Winning Eleven)

According to Gigex, Pro Evolution Soccer is coming to the Xbox in Q4 2004. Not sure if it's going to be on Xbox Live, but it's a great start in adding a quality soccer game to the Xbox. Funny how this just came up as I was talking to Grean about it.

Features for Xbox Live 3.0 Discussed

"Various sources, unconfirmed by Microsoft, have been floating new features that could be in the next Xbox Live upgrade. Dubbed "Tsunami" by the industry, this 3.0 release could come as soon as April 2004. The new features in this release could potentially include voice mail, instant messaging and additional teaming options." The voice mail feature and teaming options sound cool.

Full Spectrum Warrior

I was really looking forward to this game, but after reading this preview at GameSpot I think I'm going to be disappointed. "In addition to the single-player game, Full Spectrum Warrior will offer some Xbox Live fun. At the moment, the game is slated to include a two-player co-op mode in which you and a friend will each be in command of a squad of soldiers and will go through the game together." I've also read in other Xbox mags that this is all they will offer for Xbox Live is the 2 player co-op mode. How boring. Oh well, just gotta keep waiting for Halo 2 I guess.
