Review | Sennheiser PXC 300

PCX300.JPG

I haven't been too interested in noise-canceling headphones until my sister showed me her Bose noise canceling headphones. I'm not a big fan of Bose to begin with (I think they're just overpriced and heavily marketed) but I was pleasantly surprised by the feature. The noise cancellation stuff actually kind of worked. So I was off to find a good set that didn't say Bose or Sony on them. So of course I looked into my favorite headphone brand Sennheiser and read some decent reviews for the Sennheiser PXC 300 models. Most places have them for about $150. but I was able to find them for just over $110. at Compuplus.com (though I just checked and they're back up to $128.) but needless to say I am very happy with the purchase. At first glance, I was worried that they wouldn't cover enough of my ear to let me hear enough my music and cancel the noise out properly. In real world use, it's actually the most comfortable phones I've worn and the only minor gripe I have about it is the battery case/control for the noise cancellation, it's a bit bulky. Other than that, I would recommend these to anyone. If you travel often, these babies are an absolute must on a plane. It's amazing how much low rumbling hum it cancels out. You won't ever want to travel without them on.

Music | Radiohead

Radiohead was always one of my favorite bands, but seeing them live (this was my first time) just catapulted them as best band ever, IMHO. If there's one concert to see, I'd say it's them. The 2+ hour wait in line on a really hot sunny day in San Diego was well worth it! I wanna see them again and again. Enjoy the short clip of Fake Plastic Trees which they played late in their set (when I was already so tired), but hearing it performed live made me forget how tired I was. Simply awesome.

Music | Pandora

If you love to find new music but hate relying on the radio to do it for you, check out Pandora.com. What a cool (free) way to find new music. They not only find what other songs you may like (it automatically skips songs you mark as not liking), but a lot of the things they do find are obscure stuff that I never would have heard about before. In addition to this, you can create your own "Radio Stations" which you can pick what kind of music genres would belong to. God Bless the Internet!

Jack Johnson Sucks

JackJohnsonSucks.png

I hate to be negative, but after watching SNL tonight (musical guest was Jack Johnson) my opinion hasn't changed. He does suck. His songs sound exactly the freaking same. Okay, I'm done. Time to sleep and be ready for golf tomorrow! Sorry, Jack. Maybe if your songs didn't sound all the same, I wouldn't have wasted time with this post. Anyway, the highlight of the show was Horatio Sanz as Vin Diesel, funny stuff.

Apple iTunes Music Store Save Me by Unwritten Law for free!

I was looking to buy "Save Me" by Unwritten Law for a while now and I placed it in my iTunes shopping cart to purchase later. I searched for it again tonight, forgetting I already had it in my cart and in my search results they offered the album/explicit version for free! Go get it while it's still free, it's a cool song.

FM949 It's About The Music

If you're ever in the general San Diego area, you need to check out FM949. They play all the coolest alternative songs and I can honestly say that none of the songs, well 99% of the songs they play anyway, are songs that I had bought on CD's or listened to back in the day. It's all iTunes music store for me on my iPod now. But anyway, check this station out if you prefer listening to great music and not 20 minutes of commercials in a row. Okay, enough blogging for today. It's time to play some golf!
